I moved from KDE to i3 but then moved back. KDE is customizable but I think this is going to be a tad more customizable. I'll try it out once I fix Xorg because nvidia treats linux users like trash
Your videos are very sweet, informative and nice and short! Thank you for saving our time from watching of hours of useless videos with little 2 no content
this is great. but please record in landscape mode. i use awesome too. took me a while to clean and update shortcuts in the lua confit file. but it works perfectly
combine it with minimal install and it makes wonder in terms of performance. I am able to boot debian minimal on hdd and potato computer in about 8s boot, with ssd could achieve more
I need some thoughts from you crypto. Please look up Cellebrite UFED Touch. I have four of them do you think these would make decent pentesting devices. I know the original software will have to be removed or altered but would love your thoughts?
I started using both linux and a wm for the first time at the same time, it's nice and simple, it's kinda difficult at the beginning but later it's just productivity
Do not start with I3 is one of the worst TWM. Start with AWESOME so you don't have to keep changing from one to the other! For me it is the most productive TWM.
Is that a T430? Peak thinkpad imo. It is what I do all my dev work on. Throw it on the dock and you are laughin at all those nerds who spent $1000 for a machine they can’t even game on. Next improvement I am buying as an external GPU to run through the Express slot.
They r difficult to setup Fn keys don't work U can't change volume/brigtness I searched for about 2 hours to find how to change brightness in i3 and at last I moved to my old ubuntu
awesome! (XD), bruh your format of short informational video is great but didn't u think about some tutorials? I very need well tutorial about awesomeWM or i don't know dwm, bspwm cause documentation is nah
Right now the x390 is running Parrot OS. I'm running Fedora as of recently as my main system now that it's playing better with the thinkpad p1 gen 2. Running it on my xps13 as well
@Ferruccio Benito ArchWiki (Arch Linux's Wiki) is also a good wiki to start learn about. It has all the things about list of wm, how to configure, and so on. ArchWiki is also a perfect place to learn about Linux.
Yeah of course when it comes to tinkering with stuff docs and wikis are always the way to go. But for some comparison and a basic understanding of what could fit you, I like videos a lot.

0 likesYou don't need Dmenu just use Super+P, awesome has it's own built in rendition so there for your dmenu is bloat.

3 likesYeah it's honestly not too bad, there's some great in depth videos on it on YouTube. Just different and takes a bit to set up, but it's all easy stuff
3 likesIt takes some time to get used to and quite an amount of configuring, but after the initial stuff, it goes very well.
0 likesI recommend starting with i3 first, it's a bit simpler.
1 like@OPtimal If me I will recommend herbstluftwm. It is very simple, easy to configure and quite pretty (at least with me).

2 likes@João Paulo Albuquerque Agree with you. Awesome is very full-featured as an TWM. Maybe it's the most beginner-friendly WM.
2 likes@Dang Hoang Tuan Indeed, it already comes with a panel, launcher, notifications and keybinds.
1 like@Crypto The Llama thank you. I'll start setting mine up asap...
