I felt really bad for Spike in this episode. He's a good dude and sometimes the Mane 6 don't exactly treat him with the respect he deserves. They all still love him of course and don't intentionally hurt him, they make mistakes sometimes when they don't think about where he's coming from and how it must feel to be a dragon living with ponies.
@@Icy-be5vl yeah it isn’t your fault but it’s not like all dragons are like that. Also the reason they act the way they do makes perfect sense based on the environment they live in. Also it’s not like many of the ponies are any better either.
Idk if I’m looking into it too much but I feel like it kinda shows how sometimes there’s boys who are “soft” and they aren’t very “boyish” like the rest of the boys and here spike tries to be like them but ends up being happy with who he is. And doesn’t need to act all tough, and strong to be considered a boy.
12:04 bro did he just insult princess celestia- everyone knows that alicorns are op and she could definitely solo every dragon including the adult ones smh smh
for as much as mlp made dragons out to be assholes, other than Spike and later Ember and Garble when he's around his sister; yet the ponies apparently stole Spikes egg from his mother that would have devastated her and could have even drove her to suicide since she couldn't even protect her egg from "namby pamby" ponies what I can't think of many things more monstrous than that.Making the ponies the real monsters.
The worst episode in my opinion. Or one of them. The problems are: -Mane 6 treat Spike with some sort of neglect -Twiggles never bothered to learn about his origins or dragons, while hatching Spike was a central part of her project. Book horse, seriously? -The major problem: dragon society (in this episode at least) is comprised of total a-holes without any decent or reasonable representatives. Eve the adults are ignoring the fact that he is a baby dragon. I mean - no society can survive for long time with that kind of attitude. Even pirates historically had a strong discipline in their ranks. -The moral of the story is ugly: ditch your roots coz they are inherently flawed and evil. Sounds like something from religious fanatics. I guess this is the problem of this particular writing.
1. i hate that the mane 6 dont treat spike with respect 2. i saw twilight raised spike back on cutie mark chronicles 3. kinda reminds me of dungeons and dragons 4. dragons can be dramatic
Oh not to mention how they joked about him being girly like what? Rainbow dash is a Tom boy yet I’ve never seen them make fun of her. Also it looked like their jokes made him feel insecure.
I hate this episode because it felt extremely racist. Same with the Zebra one, but this one is just glorified. It probably wasn’t intended, but it made it seem extremely racist sounding. Like sure not all horses are the same but that doesn’t mean we should judge them. Then they just judge a whole race of dragons. Calling spike “different” from those other dragons which dang that’s also racist. Like don’t teach HIM how to be a pony teach him how to be a good person while still being a dragon. It’s like they took away some of his identity which is important. Like he wanted to learn more about his culture but they just bad mouth his own race, and he doesn’t even get to fully learn his culture. Got caught up in the wrong crowd.
@@stormshadowproductions1660 the problem with this episode for me was that they could have spent using this episode to learn more about dragons and the lore behind them but instead them made them 1 note stereotypical boy Jerks. This episode was a wasted potential in what could have been a episode that expanded the lore behind the show. And I really like your points you put

4 We learn NOTHING about The Dragons at all we would have to wait until S6 E5 to learn anything.
5 All the other dragons are so one-dimensional that even a Disney Channel bully would be like "come on dude say or do something original.
6 The Manie 6 contributes little to nothing
7 Peewee Spike's pet Phoenix that we never see again until S8 E11
8 We don't learn anything about Spike where did he come from, who were his parents, and how did he get to Canterlot, not one question was answered.
