It actually bothers me that Starlight said "they're all good now", as if being desperate and starving is evil.
I think whether Chrysalis was evil in that case depends on if she knew about this before. It could have been a surprise to her, or it could have been something she was intentionally keeping from them so that they'd follow her in her conquest.

I prefer the design for the original changelings so much more. I think they’re cuter and not super gullible and stereotypically hippy. Like, their entire personality changed.
Besides, wouldn't it have been better to teach kids that appearances dont matter? :/

I am confused on this whole thing. If the Changelings are just fully developed, not really "reformed", why hasn't Queen Chrysalis reformed yet? Also, I feel like Season 9 will be the most likely time for Chysalis to reform since it's the "final season".

What the reformed changelings have is pretty much a perpetual motion machine for love. Things just do not work that way. It seems logical that this only works for so long before it falls apart. I could see them all dying in say 20 years as the love loses potency. Heck, she might have KNOWN that would happen and that is why she never tried this method. She might have even tried that centuries in the past, to see her spawn die.

There is another possibility for Chrysalis, if we assume three things (and ignore the series finale):

- Chrysalis is immortal (or at least extremely long-lived) and
- Changeling Queen is necessary for making more changelings
- reformed Changelings have a possibly great, but limited supply of unhatched eggs

If those things are true, then Chrysalis just needs to wait. She doesn't have to start a Civil War, she just need to sit down and chill till the last reformed changeling dies of old age. Then she can begin a new hive under her rule that will have no living examples of alternative way of being a Changeling. If she still has motherly feelings for reformed Changelings, then this solution has an advantage of not needing to kill/enslave any of her children. It requires a lot of time, true, but she can use all that time to enact her revenge on creatures that "corrupted" her subjects.

Now that I think of it, this plan could be an option even if we take the finale into consideration. After all, it wouldn't be the first case where the villain turned to stone is freed after a long time.

I for the longest time have been planning on writing a Changeling War story and with how disappointing the Season 9 Finale was just from what I've heard online, I'm considering turning this idea of mine into a reality.

I sure freakin' hope there's a changeling civil war. That would make an EXCELLENT story. And it better last more than two episodes, that's a huuuuge plot. Not to mention the fandom would want to see as much of Chrysalis as they can get.

Wait a minute... That would mean that chrysalis was protecting her hive from death. If the reformed changelings are the final form, that would mean their life cycle would be pretty much over. Which means they're gonna die sooner than the unreformed changelings solely because of the fact that there's no more growing that they can do and they're in the prime of their life.

Pro Thorax: your always full
Con Thorax: you die sooner

Pro crystalis: your always hungry
Con crystalis: you live longer

Queen crystalis main purpose was to protect and keep her people alive. She was doing her best with what little she had. That's why the changelings needed a queen in the first place. A leader who can provide... Sort of.

Nutrition means nothing if they can't fight. I honestly think the un-reformed changelings would win. But, it only takes one separated from the pack to divide them all. If the writers were as great as you, they would probably make thorax convince crysalis to reform.

There's three BIG flaws with this theory:
1: It assumes that the reformed changelings can hold up the "always satisfied" status indefinitely. There's been an entire season and so far it looks like that notion is... shaky at best
2: It assumes the insect-changeling similarities go as far as a one-way metamorphosis with no divergences. This is unlikely given they take similarities to their fey roots.
3: It assumes Chrysalis doesn't know something we don't about changeling biology. This is a complete blind grab on paper, I'll admit, but it would go even further to explain Chrysalis' response than just Mother Bear syndrome, she could know something we don't. What if there's a massive downside to changelings "transforming" that we don't know about? What if the "adult" stage is like an adult mayfly? Beautiful, flighty, and short-lived. Chrysalis may have wished revenge because she knew that her entire species is being sentenced to death, just as an example.

I think it's possible that she did have good intentions at first, but was already slowly sinking into 'drunk on power' state. It's possible that her failure in the Canterlot wedding was just the push to drive her totally insane and a second failure to gain power didn't help. It's still possible for her to create a new army, though doubtful since they'd be starting out as eggs and would have to grow into full grown soldiers which would take time. It's also still possible for her to see the light with a different push. One that I think Thorax will be the one to give as a new changeling leader. I think that's what will happen. Thorax will be the one to help Queen Chrysalis see things in a different perspective. Thorax or Pharynx, one or both

I actually support chrisalis here, she's actually my favorite character, even out of the main six, but I don't want her to be reformed really...

I meant, the entire ending of this episode was a mess. The changeling sauce suddenly changing just because a pony tells them do you want to give hugs instead of eat everything, just didn't work. More to the point though, the missed opportunity with the queen was my really got me angry. Throughout the show, her motivation had been shown to be her people. Keeping in charge of them, leading them into the better welfare, and even getting revenge. But everything was done for her people. So now, there is a chance for her to continue leading them into a new age of prosperity and she turns it away? That just doesn't make sense to me. I liked the episode, I hated that.

Yeah I don't think the new changelings would want to have the old life when they are always hungry and mean. Im sorry but Thorax is not the best leader, but he is still a WAY better leader than Chrysalis, if she cared for her "kids" then she would let them be satisfied with their own choice and not force them to do what she wants. She's not a leader she's a tyrant.

I´ve got another idea: There´s more changeling hives.
Yep, another hive, with another leader, and a fully developed army. Chrysalis just has to go there, report how dangeorus Equestria is, and get the other army´s support.

Who knows how high up in this hierarchy Chrysalis is. Maybe she´s just the leader of a small scouting troop, but didn´t tell any of her children about it. This could mean that there´s an entire army of soldiers for every changeling we´ve seen so far, and maybe these soldiers have varying body shapes and stuff, depending on their role.
If that were the case, Equestria would get wiped off the map in a week or so.

While they are at their "butterfly" state.one thing that I noticed is ocellus's form when transforming from one creature to another seems to make her keep her "Fins?",body color,and her eye color.So I came into a conclusion that their kind is undergoing EVOLUTION.🤓

She wants what is best but if all changelings get reformed, that would mean they would always let their guard down. Which means it will be easier for them to get attacked. She did not want them to change so they would not get hurt

Just to put this out there: Slide evolution! The reformed changlings could always revert back if they had the choice to follow their mother. Now I could just be using a Digimon mechanic to justify that both forms are grown adults since there are changeling grubs in the show. But if I can let my bias show here, I like Chrysalis. She has the Brain Stew actually take down the princesses if there wasn't a plot armour in Pony form to stop her. If I ever get around to having art made for my OC, then I would have him be unreformed.

I honestly don’t believe Chrysalis lays eggs for the colony, that one scene where she is in the nursery could just be her overseeing the birth of new Changelings. There are scenes that suggest she doesn’t, the fact that Thorax singles out Pharynx as his brother which wouldn’t make sense if they were related, the fact in hearths warning club we see changelings that could be Ocellus family. We assume she does because we compare the changelings to bees, and possibly cause Thorax said he was raised by her. I think there’s a possibility that Chrysalis doesn’t allow her subjects to have involvement in raising their children

If she ever becomes good (most likely will not now that the show has ended) I kind of want her to stick to her old design. It's nice to have a dark colored character for a change instead of turning them all bright and sparkly like literally everything else in the show

The beginning though was my actual reaction. I was on the edge of my seat, and when Chrysalis slapped Starlight, I flipped the coffee table.

HOI4 equestria at war mod has this, and all it does is prove that the "bad guys" have better chances at winning in the mod (considering there is no incentive whatsoever of playing as the good guys), but in all honesty, the villains are the most fun.

I have a theory about the show in the background of the show I've seen a lot of people who have some kind of moon cutiemark so i have this theory that celestia didn't do lunas job while she was locked away, instead the unicorns with moon cutiemarks worked together to raise the moon.

What about the other ones that replaced all the important ponies? They weren’t at the hive so that means that they probably weren’t reformed.

what about the 12 black changelings that replaced twilight, her friends, the princesses, and shining armor in to where and back again. How do we know for sure they came back to the hive. They could be in hiding like chrysalis.

I have already seen the full series of My Little Pony and well let me tell you it is awesome and they ended on a cliffhanger can you believe it

This is kind of the same idea I've been saying for a long time. Lets all remember that not ALL of the changelings were around when the reform was done. Most were spread out to replace key figures in different areas of Equestria. (The Mane 6, The Royal Sisters and The Princess of the Crystal Empire) Now when the reform DID happen, these said changelings had one of three options.

Option A. Fall in line with the new way of life. (Thorax)
Option B: Seek out their former leader and build strength (Chrysalis)
Option C: Choose no one and wander with no ideology.

I know the third one sounds extreme, but to make my point, let me point you to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. There are missions where you try to recover old members of MSF, but due to them being so displaced after the destruction of their old home and the supposed death of their leader, they've become either mercs without a goal or broken soldiers with no hope. This could happen to changelings that chose neither option, where they become so distraught with what they should do, they begin to do things on their own. Whether good, bad or otherwise.

The other two options also make sense, since there are some who will be intrigued by the new way of life, while others will remain loyal to the end and stay with Chrysalis. Again lets go back to MGSV. There is a scene where every soldier is infected with a virus and they have to die. Instead of fighting it when they see their leader, they just salute and tell him as such, "We live or die by your decision boss!" There are gonna be changelings that are that loyal who will live or die for Chrysalis, especially since she's the only real figure head the changelings have known for GOD knows how long. Whereas with Thorax, he's new blood. True the changelings are intrigued by this new way of life, but he has yet to prove himself as a leader of a species. (Basically)

Now of course, Chrysalis being the mother of the changelings, means she is able to make more changelings and keep them well fed for as long as needed. So this could also put thorax's group in a bad situation. Cause there's no clear idea of them being able to produce more, unless they find more displaced changelings. (Kind of like in MGSV when you find displaced MSF soldiers)

One question what if the reformed changelings physical form was actually a form before the evil looking form just like with the crystal ponies. If they were originally like that then crysalis somehow changed that making them look more darker than usual then thorax did his thing making them seem normal. Maybe back then changelings did share love.

I personally believe that in the future, once Crystalis is freed, she will seek revenge, and then some big event will happen, causing her to want to reform

What if under chrysalis, normal changelings couldn't have eggs, but now that they "openly share love", they can do that. Love, for changelings, is needed to operate bodily functions, and if all the changelings only loved the queen, she'd be the only one able to lay eggs, creating a cycle of loyal, loving children and making sure that the hive would always need her.

(Spoiler warning) The mlp pony way of having a one hit kill on villains or problems always bothers me, that’s why I love Chrysalis! She the most realistic villain on the show and I like her that way. It’s good to teach kids that not all problems can be solved easily, like how Twilight just cured Luna of her depression just by saying something like “you don’t have to be sad” or what not. That will always make me angry looking back on it. But anyways I want to have Chrysalis be the one to show the main characters of mlp that certain problems can’t be fixed that easily and that the main characters will learn that! (Side-note I can excues that saying the main characters know that problems can’t be fixed easily like when they fought any of the truly big villains but I want them mostly to learn that problems mentally or problems like this can’t be easily solved and take time).

Reformed changelings are basically a different species. As a queen her #1 priority is the survival of her species, reforming would be forsaking her natural instincts.

Alicorn Amulet's still at Zecora's, right? If Chrysalis (disguised as Apple Bloom) managed to get a hold of THAT, maybe come across Tirek and a few others locked away in Tartarus, and frees them, she could potentially be a force to be reckoned with. Tirek can absorb Magic, then feed it to Chrysalis. As we know, she can overpower Celestia with Shining's love ALONE. With the love AND Magic absorbed from the Changelings, along with the amulet to amplify her powers, and Equestria's got a REAL crisis on their hooves!

Now, top it all off with her taking down all of the known heroes, INCLUDING the Student 6, and we've got a new season that could revolve around the BACKGROUND Ponies saving their heroes without magic.

Like Doctor Hooves, for example. He uses science and stuff to make armor to protect them all, using the old throne from Chrysalis's old hive.

I actually don't think chrysalis is evil if you look closely to her you can see that she is just trying to feed her subjects and she has so many so she has to take over one Kingdom and the only Kingdom she found is equestria and it is the only Kingdom that has enough love so she is just trying to rule her own kingdom

To me, Chrysalis didn't look like she liked her subjects at all. To me, it seemed like she was ruling her subjects out of fear. My theory is most likely she chose to be a parasite for love willingly so the other changeling didn't have anywhere else to go. That way they have to follow her wheather they like it or not.

I changed in Civil War will be very interesting climax but this will be more one-sided since the reform changelings be more on the good side but her new generation with grow up with chrysalis's ideas so they're royalty is justified. Other ideal circumstance that would be more interesting if Queen Chrysalis somehow bring back King Sombra and the Storm King after their defeats and with their help to raise their own Army (with spells that somehow created life like the other unicorns did with the bird and eggs) whether from plants, trees, or even the Chaotic Snowclouds around the Crystal Empire to make a puppet Army to dominate the others and get the Revenge under old kingdoms.

Crysilis (Sp?) has had some plans that would work on paper 📝 but when they played out.....utter failure (I’m referring to the mean six...now THAT was disappointing) also I like the idea of a civil war.....but it’s probably not going to happen

If there WAS a Civil War between the Reformed changelings and the non-reformed changelings, don't immediately say the non reformed changelings will win because they are used to fighting. The reformed changelings are not starving like the non-reformed changelings, so they will have more strength. Also, the reformed changelings are allies with the Dragons ( I guess? Thorax is friends with Ember now so..), the royal princesses, but think about this. Chrysalis might be allied with other creatures. This could be more than just a Civil War. More like a world war if you ask me. Think about it. World War 2 had two sides. The Allied Powers and the Axis Powers ( I think). Chrysalis COULD be allied with some other villains. In the season 9 trailer, I wondered something. Changelings and Tirek both feed of off something ponies posses. If they teamed up with some other creatures, they could satisfy themselves Oof.

Though the equestrian changelings have constant nutrition, Chrysalis really might grow a bigger army.

There is evidence that changelings aren't from Equestria. In season 2, when Chrysalis first reveals her real character, she says "As a queen, I have to feed my subjects! Equestria has more love than any place I've encountered!" or something like that. It implies she's not from Equestria.

I'm actually hoping we get another episode with Chrysalis in season 8, because the one we already got freaking sucked.

At Season 8 There is an episode called Mean 6 and Chrysalis put Clone versions of the ponies so Starlight gets mad at them and Chrysalis wants to steal the Elements but when they were in the Tree of Harmony, they were doing the opposites of Magic Honesty Laughter Generosity Loyalty Kindness then the Elements of Harmony turned to black then the Clones turned to colored roots.

Story bit of Chrysalis: Once Chrysalis was a Alicorn Shinning armour when she caught her eye on him but Shinning armour took no notice on her and only took notice and love and respect to Cadence witch consumed Chrysalis with Anger and sadness she wanted Revenge and took Cadence's form trapped her and Twilight in the Caves Under Canterlot Then beated of shinning armours love for Cadence witch then Celestia wanted a Fight to save the empire and Ponyville but unfortunately she lost she lie on the ground with her horn black Chrysalis was to powerful with Shinning armour's love while that Changelings wee beating of the protection spell the next is a mystery

Tbh, seems like un-reformed would win. We already saw how docile and weak they are when it comes to fighting. Sure, they have nutrition on their side, but its gonna take some training til' they pose a threat.

Chrysalis might consider changelings her legs, ears and eyes. Interchangeable. No free will. Thorax and the reformed changelings she might consider a cancer that needs to be excised. She would no more accept this any more that the Borg Queen would delight in the loss of Seven Of Nine or other Borg drones.

while speaking bout civil wars u said that there is a right side in them, welp, hate to disappoint u, but real life civil wars and wars as a whole are not cartoon ones, they are a complicated set of events and decisions and its rare if ever that there is a morally correct side there. If you support one side, doesnt mean that whoever supports the other are morally wrong, it just means that you support the side that you support.

I really hope they don't reform Chrysalis because the element of harmony guidebook (old one) states she isn't reformed because some people won't become good in life.

When you said you were going to slow down your post rate, I really hoped that you would increase the quality. Which you did, but not in the way I thought : the audio and editing are really better, but you also posted a bunch of videos that really don't make more sense to my eyes than those that you did on a weekly basis at the beginning.

I just watched this one, where you made what might be called a mistake :
In 4:25, you said that Chrysalis and Starlight had "totally different relationships [to their old lost people]".
You then developed by describing Chrysalis' (but mostly why she can afford a civil war) until around 4:50, but then you completely forgot to talk about Starlight Glimmer.
And so the question remains : Starlight might have built a new cult (which wouldn't have been much slower than giving birth and making grow an army of changeling all alone) to then launch a propaganda in Ponyville or something, because she knew that she was doing good; but she didn't, and went straight to revenge. So why wouldn't Chrysalis ?

This is only one example among others, but this is the one that made me question the accuracy and plausibility of your theories, and then conclude that it wasn't really worth my attention anymore.

Though I have to say you made a mistake- you said the changeling minions were Chrysalis's children, but since there is really no evidence in the show that the changelings are her offspring. Also, Chrysalis was not really dedicated to her subjects- she really was a heartless villain- she starved them purposely for her own means. It's a common fan misconception that the changeling minions are the offspring of Chrysalis. Good speculation, though.
