Fantasy began playing at teenage dances and graduated with a performance at The Experience, an underground hippie gathering place in Miami. In 1968, The Experience closed its doors and turned into Thee Image, a large refurbished bowling alley featuring the greatest artists
days. Fantasy was chosen as the home band and each weekend they found themselves on account with like Cream, Grateful Dead, The Doors, Steppenwolf, Iron Butterfly, Frank Zappa and Led Zeppelin to name a few. The regional popularity of the bands increased when the tragedy occurred. In the summer of 1970, Fantasy singer Billy Robbins disappeared.
Dates were postponed, and thirty days later, their worst fears came true when Billy Robbins was found dead.
A few months later, the band began searching for a new singer, settling on 16-year-old singer Jamena Miller. Where Billy Robbins was charismatic, Jamene was talent. She boarded and the Fantasy train kept rolling. It was only a matter of months when the band would sign a contract with the manager and merge with Liberty / United Artists. This album / CD is the first and only real fantasy album.
It is a pure and sincere testimony of his own
times. Unfortunately for Fantasy, ego, immaturity and questionable management have split the band. Where are they now? Fantasy lives only in the music on this album.
