The sister of the director of this movie (Brad Bird) died because of a gun, that made Brad wonder... What would happen if a gun found out that it was a gun and decided it didn't want to be a gun. And so The Iron Giant was born.
I love this movie, it’s one of the underrated classic animated films that I know of. It’s heartwarming, entertaining, sad, and hilarious. Thanks a lot for covering The Iron Giant and take care of yourself, bro!
The Iron Giant is one of the most iconic and saddest animated films of all time. in fact every time i watch the ending it always makes me want to point out that the reason the giant sacrificed himself was because after everything he experienced on Earth, the giant realized that he could be more than a just a mindless war machine he knew that he could be a force for good.
And he didn't want to see another planet be destroyed because of him, so the giant thought that the best way to save the Earth was to save it from himself. ergo the reason why he willingly got himself blown up in the end.
Like the character cameos based on animators Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas in this film(the two men that Kent Mansley talked to at the railroad), that was a nice touch.😉
