Season 7 was the last season that left me satisfied overall. More hits than misses for me. On the other hand season 8 and ESPECIALLY 9 missed a whole fucking lot that made me litterally give up on a show that I've enjoyed for almost a decade. Such a shame.
To where and Back again was good. Glimmer and Thorax were boring but Discord and Trixie had a fun chemistry. And Make new friends but keep Discord was one of the 8/10 high ranking episode on /mlp/ poll since it was pretty entertaining. But it might be boring for you if you dont care about Discord and Fluttershy's relationship. I would rather see "What about Discord" or "Matter of Principals" on number 6 as it was a bad dumb episode with OOC Discord. But the Make new friends was great and animation was very detailed.

I think the season 6 finale is underrated
