Derpy vs Snips and Snails

I like this one interpretation of snails where, (while somewhat slow in other areas) is a prodigy in math, his cutiemark being a reference to the Fibonacci Spiral. I also think he could be autistic, (he displays some traits) I also do not believe Snips or Snails were made to make fun of those sorts of people. Yes, I do think their execution was rather crude and offensive, as characters they are somewhat flat. However, I still think they are worth a bit of appreciation

I admire DERPY actually, with a lazy eye myself I'm glad they eventually brought her back. What she means to me that even though if you have flaws you can still be awesome and have lots of friends and what not

Snails is really the one who should be taken off! He’s basically a joke about people who have disabilities! Derpy however, is actually a very good character, and simply has an eye condition! That causes her to be somewhat clumsy, which makes sense due to seeing things different, literally! Her weird personality is just who she chose to be! Why did people hate her? I don't know, Snips and Snails remind me of Bulk and Skull. Now they're not as enjoyable as Bulk and Skull, but they have the potential to be. B&S ARE THE ultimate form of Slapstick, even more so than the 3 Stooges IMO. They learned to take the socially awkward and slapstick and roll it all into one and do it RIGHT. That's why they lasted through six seasons of Power Rangers and a whole boatload of character development because of it.

Let's be fair, most of what we know about Derpy comes from what the fandom has asumed about her. Most people when talking about her mention that she' inspirational because she accepts herself for who she is, problems and all...But we don't actually know that. She was given like three lines to say and that was kinda it. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this idea of her, but I've never seen in explored in the show.

Before the end of the video I thought Derpy was gonna win. So I was like 'Yeaah!!!' when she did. :P

Some of the points you aren't legitamate. As much I love Derpy, canon-wise all that we know is that she is clumsy but accepts it. We don't know if she accepts it as a uniqueness. As for snips and snails I think its wrong saying that they act stupid to gain attention.

Tbh... I really enjoy Snails as a character bc he's so simple. Sure, his kind of character is way overused but you know what? I love them all! In Hercules, Pain and Panic were my favorites (for example). This kind of simpleness and silliness is something I can relate to as a person who likes to think simple, who does silly things and who is slow in some ways. And I don't mean that I have a mental disability but more like that's part of my character (I still have some mentally troubles tho...). And that's how I see Snails! That's his character, that's how he is and I can relate to that. I never thought that he was created to make fun of disabled people, not even a second. So... yeah... that's how I feel about Snails. Can't say much to Snips, not the biggest fan of him but I think he's rather cute ^^ Derpy of course in an angel and we have to protect her at all costs.
So for me, both teams win! Yay! (and yes, I understand if you disagree with my opinion, but pls don't be rude about it... it's just the way I see it..)

most people were annoyed by the CMC, and some still are annoyed, because of the annoyed child-like tendencies they had in seasons 1+2. the staff have also not been good at writing many male characters.
now comparing them to Derp of all ponies is a little unfair, as she was latched unto by the fans because the internet literally made her character. Look at just at what the show has given us, and all we have been given is the resident town clutz with a destructive plot and un-focused eyes...and a POSSIBLE love of muffins. The Internet and fandom have taken just those small things and suddenly turned her into muffin loving single mother of a filly unicorn and a mare who is trusting, good matured, and lives with Carrot Top. And finish with anyone who speaks against the wall-eyed mare or does anything negative to her and they will have the wrath of damn near the entire brony populace come down on them in angry comments carrying pitchforks.

Nothing against Derpy, but this comparison is unfair.

Some people have said that Derpy is misrepresentation of the mentally handicapped, but how do we know that she's mentally handicapped anyway? It could just be an eye condition.

When Derpy and Snips & Snails was first introduced as characters with dialogue, they both had the worst introduction out of the whole show. Derpy's introduction was just cringe, not funny, and pointless. WHILE Snips & Snails introduction was quite strange, too. If I was gonna say, I think that Snips & Snails' intro was little bit better than Derpy's.

Derpy is so cute and I love her so much. Her crossed eyes were a mistake but since the fans loved her so much Hasbro kept it that way. Anyway I AM SO HAPPY THAT THEY DID BRING DERPY BACK!!! And plus in slice of life they gave her an official voice in the show. So does Bon Bon that's a relief. Bon Bon's voice is going to stay the same now because Andrea Libman the voice of Pinkie pie and Fluttershy plays Bon Bon now. And Ashleigh Ball voice of Rainbow Dash (best pony) and Applejack plays Lyra. Tabitha germane plays Rarity, Granny Smith, and DERPY!! She also plays other characters but that would take a lot of typing so I'm not going to put down the whole list. Slapstick is the lowest form of Comedy? Why? Sure it can be over-used, but I always thought of making a sex innuendo every 10 seconds as the lowest form of comedy. It can be funny, but most of the time it's waaay over-used.

Snails is slow and has a snail cutiemark and in one part he said "I like pudding" out of nowhere and is totally fine and kept it but when Derpy says "I don't know what went wrong", "Nice work Rainbow Dash" and "Yay AppleJack WOOOO" in a "weird" voice the censor her and fixed her eyes and voice
