afk is probably so that it will auto fish for you and you dont have to do anything while manual fishing you have to right click every time to fish again. idk thats just my guess.

@Cubilon all you gotta do is type /ctemprule fishingManipulation afk then right click once to throw your fishing bobber under a lilypad and let it do the rest for you, also do /cfish add enchantgoal enchanted book or bow or whatever you want

Yep, you can do other things at the same time and have multiple people doing it.

Rybot: slight correction, the UUID comes from the RNG (which comes from the system time in nanoseconds mixed with a global MLCG), not the other way around. We just crack the RNG from the UUID.

You could generate the uuid in a more secure way, that would make it significantly harder

It looked like he was on a spigot server to me, the chat had a world prefix which I don't think is possible without plugins. Might be wrong. Regardless, this is likely to be patched by paper very soon if it isn't already

It works on spigot, in fact we recorded on a spigot server. It doesn't work on paper.

The whole concept doesn't work on paper. Well... Pretty much in any practical sense anyway. There's no config option in paper to make it work.

i know its a late response, but if you're using the afk option then just right click and don't move or anything and it should do all the work itself.

Yes, a prediction is a more accurate of describing it but considering the lilypad thingy I'd say there is a bit of manipulation to it as well since it isn't randomized the way it's intended to

Well you manipulate the rng, by tossing the fishing rod multiple times and pulling the rod out of the water at the right time.

@Marius DKM not really though, just retrying while predicting the rng as he said the rng formula is still the same and it is still calculated normally

@Abdelrahman Mohammed It's both. The RNG is predicted in that we know what is going to happen and manipulated in that we choose what value we want

"Manipulation" really covers anything relating to taking advantage of the pseudo-random nature of RNGs in games. Every other form of RNG manipulation I have seen in Minecraft isn't too far removed from this anyway. The only particularly new thing about fishing RNG that I haven't seen before is the network statistics and cracking the seed from the UUID (although the latter is planned for other things too).

Goal: cod - casts out single time and catches cod
Goal: any book or bow - doesn't stop casting and never catches anything

there was an update to fishing mechanics regarding treasure items in 1.16. Basically a 5x5x5 area ("Open Water") is needed to catch treasure items.

Nope still doesn't work tried it in 5x5x5 pool and in the ocean.

@Gabriel maybe, its just a suggestion. Something like egg RNG manipulation would be pointless, looting would be really nice, all types of world RNG manipulation that were doable before are not anymore in the newest versions, so looting seems like the next best thing. I wonder if you would have to have looting at all because since they are entities they have RNG just the same as most things to determine the type and quantity of the item dropped. Fishing RNG manipulation does not require any enchants, so it is possible that mob loot RNG manipulation could also be possible without enchants.

@Sopitive ah, now i see what you mean, if it were possible i think it would already have been done, but i still think the only possible way would be looting, but i am no expert so

@Anastasia the "best loot" is subjective and depends what you want, but items are enchanted as if by using level 30 in an enchanting table (except that treasure enchantments are allowed)

@Earthcomputer Hmm, that seemed to solve it some what. However I think it hangs every now and then, and just stops fishing instead of catching the fish.

@Earthcomputer there seems to be an issue for me where I can catch anything but the items which is inside the treasure scope. It simply goes in to an endless loop of tossing out the lure. If i select something like a tripwire hook or anything like that i can easily catch it within moments, however if i select an enchanted book it is impossible to get. I left it for about 20 minutes and it did not get a single book. And this is with the configuration of a luck of the sea book 3. I also tried this in singleplayer and experianced the same issue.

@Skillfully Executed Your fishing area might not fit the qualifications for producing treasure items. You need a 5x5x5 open area around the water block you are fishing from. Tripwire hooks are in the trash category, which has no restriction.

As for the original question, the answer is "partly". It's also that real people have had to spend literally months of their lives writing this paper to get him off the leaderboard only to have dream using his giant platform against them which put them under yet more mental stress
