You know, I loved this. You know what I'd love to hear even more? I'd love to hear what this would sound like without the added harmonies. I personally think it'd be beautiful.
That's a really nice calm song and although I guess the reason for the voice filter is the "robot like me" being literal, I'd like to hear the version with your voice unchanged. This kind of melody is exactly what I needed now at the moment it came out. Calmed me down during a bad time.
So lovely~ <3 Actually, if I may say so, this song reminds me a little of another song called "Empty House" by relient k. Not in style or melody or anything surface level like that, but in the combination of digital tuning/harmonizing and somber piano that both use, which imo is a really really interesting combination. It creates a very different sort of somberness, a heart enchantingly painful feeling that wouldn't come through the same way without. It's as though the words being sung are so painful that they require the pitch correction to come out in song and not just a voice breaking down.
There's something very low-key and soft to it that I really can't describe, but it is something I can say I love, and really appreciate you doing with this song. Thank you <3
Well, I didn't need to simmer on this one for long to get a feel. This is staggeringly beautiful - especially love all those tension-filled chords - your harmonies are the best :) Others might think the vocoder is too much this time, but I love how THICK and rich the textures are in this one - captures that melancholy quietude of knowing something is over for good.
Really enjoying the burst of activity as of late! More days of mine are made as a result!
Such a special and emotional track <3 Loving this contribution to the album, you did wonderful with it!! New poetic vocals from you and that distinct reflective musical style, YES! It works so very well especially in the context of the album and I'm so glad you got to contribute. Amazing work, much love <3
it took until well after the series finale for me to discover Replacer, and I feel like I've found the real hidden gem of brony musicians. Truly unique and addictive, I've got a huge backlog to get through!
Ah I wished the album was a bit more of a solo, you thing, like the smol snippets you'd be uploading. Is it possible to get an instrumental to this, its so pretty. As I've said before its very like Erik Saties Gymnopedie No1 which is amazing!
While I'm also in the "I want a version without harmonies" group it's still is a very beautiful song and I think it's supposed to fit with the "with a robot like me"
Absolutely love this song man, every so often I come back to your channel and it’s like I’m back to the good ol times. Is there any way we can get the instrumental of this?
To me, this is really a standout in the album. Such gorgeous composition, and some serious Hide and Seek vibes too (and I mean that in the absolutely best way possible!!). Some Bon Iver in there as well (CRΣΣKS, specifically) especially in how some vocals bend and strain the chords to enhance the tension. Loving everything about this piece. Thank you so much for contributing <3

This landed on my YouTube mix the day it came out and hasn’t left since.

I haven't been a brony since like 2013. But found your music from Jenny Nicholson's retrospective on the fandom and this is fantastic music.
0 likesI love that vocoder effect!!! What kind of instrument is it filtered through?

it's not that type of vocoder actually! rather it's a synthesizer which re-pitches duplicates of the original voice according to midi input
1 like@replacer Oh! Interesting! What's it called? :o
