Nintendo 3DS System Applications OST

Kinda sucks that the switch didn't really get the same type of home menu treatment like the Wii and 3DS did. The way the menus and music was done for those two always made me feel like those consoles were the future. In fact, they still make me feel that way every time I use them. I feel like the hardware limitations also add to that feel - since you can see shortcomings it really makes you think of just how powerful and cool the consoles are, as opposed to modern hardware where everything is so realistic and polished that you don't really think about things like that.

Talking about nostalgia in your 20s. How could you imagine people being 70 in 2070 and talking about Nintendo 3DS?

The 3ds was just a amazing system. I generally have so many memories with it. And that’s why I love and always will be a Nintendo only gamer. Because they have truly created a awesome childhood. And what’s so funny is that just a few soundtracks in the system truly changed my life.

The Camera music hits the hardest for me, I was so young and I took pictures of everything I saw, now every time I go back and look at it I break down, 8 year old me was smart as hell.

I wish the switch had some nice music like the 3ds and Wii 🤧 I miss those times when I would play on my 3ds non stop and now the switch needs some sound like these!

Goodbye to a generation.
The 3DS (well, old 2DS specifically) will always hold a very very special place in my heart. I got it in 2012-2013? I remember playing 3D Land, Omega Ruby, etc... I messed around in the sound and photo apps, I wish I didn't factory reset, because those held a more... innocent version of me. Unaware of the harsh realities of the world. Those days are past, and will fade from my family's memory and my memory. But one thing kept consistent. My trusty 2DS. Eventually it's speaker broke, and it was stuck on full volume. So I had to get a new 2DS. I got the 2DS XL.
I had alot more fun with the XL, too. I still use it daily.
I've modded it recently, opening up many possibilities.
I will cherish my 2DS XL for as long as I will remember it.
I wanna thank Nintendo for being a large part of my childhood, and shaping who I am now.
Thanks for the memories. The console may be discontinued, but everyone who had the joy of experiencing one will remember it's glory days. This console was legendary. Sadly, its probably gonna be remembered as the last stand-alone handheld. So it's truly, a goodbye to a generation.

The 3DS/Wii era, in retrospective today, seems like Nintendo’s best era. Nostalgic, relaxing music, futuristic abstract menu designs, and some of the best software libraries in Nintendo’s history. The switch is just silence , Wii U ports, dead unoriginal titles, sequels etc.

This. This is the thing I've been waiting for. So many memories are coming back to me, a weird feeling of nostalgia.

I've always loved the fact that everything in the base 3DS is so musically driven, it gives such boring things as a settings application so much personality and charm, it's sad that this type of thing never happens anymore.

The home menu music is sooo nostalgic

Shoutout to anyone who remembers what the HOME Menu looked like before 9.0.

The Wii and 3DS systems had a lot of personality. Each app had it's own music and presentation that people still talk about today. The Switch has good games but the OS lacks the heart its predecessors had. One thing I like about the 3DS is the themes you can set up that give the system your own personal touch. I loved it when they'd release the holiday themes.

Nostalgia really hits hard with this. I got my 3DS in 2012 when I was 5. Then it had all sorts of problems so then I got a new one in 2017, which I still have. But then 2012 one really gives me nostalgia but also makes me sad, because the time and date are completely messed up every time I turn it on, most of my stats are deleted and it makes me sad (and angry at younger me who did not really pay attention to it). This music brings back memories...

I get goosebumps during the initial setup. I remember. me just like i was looking forward to my 3ds at christmas when i was seven years old. I can't get this music out of my head when setting up. I was so happy to finally be able to play the new games from the 3ds❤️0:00

Wow its so sad that the 3DS eshop is closing down (plus the Wii U as well) and have already removed the ability of adding funds to your account with credit card. (The only way you can get funds at this current moment is either merging funds from your switch to your 3ds [which is what I do] or use eshop cards.) Soon they are going are going to remove the ability to add funds entirely, then shut it down. On march 2023 the Eshop for the Nintendo 3ds/2ds family of systems and the Wii U systems will lose the eshop. Just like what happened with the Wii and DSi. This starts a new chapter for the 3DS and Wii U. The beginning of the end. Next they will shut down connectivity sometime later. So before the eshop closes, for both systems hunker down with as many games from each eshop. Either with the switch merge funds or eshop cards. DO it now.
